Symbian 3^ delays, eager beavers let down, shareholders meh…
Symbian 3^ looks to be currently off track. According to a report from Reuters, the delay is expected to be until ’sometime in third quarter’… It was initially supposed to be in 2Q, but that schedule appears to have been not met.
Shareholders response? Meh! Shares dropped by as much as 12% on this news…
I have to admit, I am curious to see what Symbian 3^ is all about and how much of an improvement it will be over v5th edition, but it looks like we will all have to wait even longer to see.
So all you Symbian fans, get in line with the HTC Hero (GSM) fans and swap stories and lore about your favorite brand/os while you wait for all this to hash out!

I really do not get the big surprise. The Symbian Foundation’s website has clearly stated since the beginning of the year that Symbian^3 handsets will enter the market in 2H10. So 2Q already seemed optimistic in my estimation. If anything, Nokia’s delayed by 1+ month from it’s estimated timing…which I think it stated during a 12.09 investor conference. Still, 1 month is material in the hyper0fast mobile world…but not sure it’s worth the 15% dip in marketcap today.
